NORCAL Meeting Saturday May 19 in Campbell

The next Norcal Meeting will be hosted by Santa Clara. The meeting will be held in the Sonoma Chicken Coop restaurant.

CAHA A and B State Championships Completed at San Jose

The CAHA A and B State Championships were held at San Jose over the weekend of April 13-15. NORCAL and SCAHA each sent 16 teams to represent their leagues.

Congratulations to the Capital Thunder Midgets for winning a state championship by their 5-2 victory over the California Wave.

Other NORCAL teams advancing to the championship round, but coming in second: Oakland Bears Midget 16 (6-2 loss to Orange County); Cougars Squirt B1 (1-0 loss to LA Hockey); and Santa Clara Blackhawks Squirt A (4-1 loss to LA Jr. Kings).


NORCAL A Playoffs at Oakland

The NORCAL A playoffs, to determine the NORCAL champions for Squirt A, Pee Wee A, Bantam A, Midget16 A and Midget A were held at the Oakland rink over the weekend of March 30 - April 1.

NORCAL B Playoffs at Oakland

The NORCAL B playoffs, to determine the NORCAL champions for Squirt B, Pee Wee B and Bantam B, were held at the Oakland rink over the weekend of March 23-25. This was an exciting event with a ceremonial first puck drop being conducted by NHL legend Willie O'Ree.

Two NORCAL Tier II Teams Advance to States; Tri Valley Midgets win title

Both the Tri Valley Midget Tier II and the Tri Valley Midget 16 Tier II teams swept their brackets in the recent CAHA playdown weekend, and advanced to the CAHA Tier II State Championships. The Championships were held March 9-11 in Escondido.

In the state championships, both teams advanced to the championship game in their respective divisions.

By virtue of their 3-1 win over the California Wave, the Midget 18 team, coached by Mike Holmes, won the state championship, and will represent California at the Tier II National Championships. This marks the fourth year in a row that Tri-Valley has sent an M18AA team to Nationals.

The Tri Valley Midget 16 team also faced a California Wave team in the championship game, but lost by a score of 4-1.
