NORCAL Officer Nominations due May 2nd

Deadline for nominations is Friday, May 2nd at midnight.
Please have all nominations go through
Carla Dickerson,
dickerson.hockey@sbcglobal.net,
or one of the other members
of the nominating committee..
All nominations made will be followed up with a confirmation
email to the individual, for them to accept or decline their nomination.
Elections will be held at the May meeting, scheduled for May 17, 2008.
The elected positions open for election this year are
President and Treasurer.

San Diego State Hockey Team Finishes 2nd in the Nation

The San Diego State hockey team finished
2nd at the ACHU Div III National Tournament in Rochester, Minnesota
this season. Nine players on the San Diego team have
NORCAL roots:

California State A Championships

The California State A playoffs were held at
the Iceoplex in Escondido, Calfornia.
beginning Friday April 4th.
Congratulations to the three NORCAL champions.
Santa Clara defeated
Stockton 3-2 in the Bantam A
championship game.
Fresno defeated Valencia 4-2 in the Midget 16A
championship game.
California Cougars defeated
Channel Islands 3-2 in the Midget A
championship game.

Cougars Pee Wee B win state championship

The CAHA Califiornia State B Championships were completed
today at the Escondido Iceoplex.
Congratulations to the California Cougars Pee Wee B
Team for capturing the state tile with their 4-3
overtime win over the San Jose Jr Sharks.
In the Bantam B division, the Tri Valley team
advanced to the championship game, but lost a close
3-2 contest to the Channel Islands Riptide.
Also participating in the tournament were the
Vacaville Jets Squirt B, San Jose Jr Sharks Squirt B
and the Lake Tahoe Bantam B teams. The Squirt B
division was won by the Yorba Linda Blackhawks
over the Valencia Express.
